My name is Snoopy and my owner brought me to Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control on Tuesday. I heard him tell the nice lady behind the counter that he wanted to return me because I had too much energy and he didn't want me anymore. My heart went into my stomach. If I could talk I would have said, why, what did I do? Why don't you love me, I love you? I was so scared when I heard the lady advise my owner that I might be euthanized and my owner said, 'I don't care.' This really gentle man walked up to my owner and asked about me. He had a kind smile, I liked him so much that I placed my paws on his legs, wagging my tail and giving him ... (Read More)kisses. I heard his wife say, 'Let's take him under Destiny for Dogs.' I had to be checked out first before I could go with Kenny and JoAnn. I was scared again because I couldn't leave with them but I hoped they would come back to get me. Today (Thursday) JoAnn and Freida retuned to pick me up. I was sooooo happy to see them. They placed a brand new green harness and leash on me. I knew that I was safe and would never be hurt again. I was going home with my new foster mom, Frieda. If you would like to meet me. Please contact JoAnn 561-313-2005 or joann@destinyfordogs.com. I look forward to meeting you and promise to be a really good boy. Hugs from Snoopy. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-16-00180Frankie (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Frankie's Info... Frankie's Story... West Palm Beach, FL: Frankie the Puggle girl is looking for that special someone. Frankie was found wandering in a trailer park in Miami, searching for food. She had been there for about a year. It seems that she belonged to a little boy who fed and cared for her, but his grandparents would not allow Frankie to stay inside with them. The whole family moved from the trailer park and Frankie was left to fend for herself. It is obvious that she is older 6? 8? And that she has had puppies, but when DESTINY FOR DOGS rescued her, she had no milk/puppies. She has been spayed and fully vetted, and is being ... (Read More)fostered by Catherine Louis since January 12 and she is now ready for her new, permanent home. Frankie gets along with other dogs and cats. She is blossoming under the routine of steady meals (she has a hearty appetite, I recommend separating her as she will take other dogs' food once her plate is finished). She eats breakfast and a good meal at night, and is just starting to realize that there is enough food for all -i.e. she is starting to turn down food. Frankie is enjoying a warm bed, kind words and affection, good food. She gets along well with other dogs, but is a dominant (not necessarily Alpha) dog - she will argue with another dog to get dominance, but will fold and accept leadership from an Alpha. She does enjoy outings and activity very much - and if she gets out, she will be happy snoring away in her bed for long periods of time. She sleeps well during the night. She uses the doggie door, and is house-trained. She is independent (not clingy) but really needs to be on the couch next to a loved one. She needs affection and her own family. She can be a little rough in her affections, so we she gets excited, it is best to help her run off the energy (a walk, or playtime in the garden) otherwise she will look for excitement - barking with my dogs, or chasing the cats. She is picking up bad habits from my dogs, but that is only because she wants to be part of the gang. She is a really nice dog, no vices - she has not been treated very well. Though tough, she will not bite even after mishandling (the vet grabbed and did some ugly stuff to her but she never reacted with aggression). Frankie likes children. She would probably do very well with a family with prior dog experience. Maybe with another dog, a male? She is good with my 3 females and 1 male, but has tried to dominate them - or else as the matriarch of the house. Please contact Foster Mom, Catherine (561) 324-8622 or JoAnn 561-313-2005, joann@destinyfordogs.com for additional or to meet this darling and deserving girl. (Less)
